Estimator

About the Role:

Mosaic Human Capital Solutions is recruiting for an experienced Estimator on behalf of our client, a leading construction company specializing in wet utilities, site work, and concrete projects. The Estimator will be responsible for bid preparation, quantity take-offs, and subcontractor/vendor solicitation, supporting project management functions as needed. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed project estimates, quantity take-offs, and bid preparations on time.
• Submit requests for information and clarifications on project scopes and existing conditions.
• Analyze historical and current cost data to develop competitive bid pricing and profitability assessments.
• Prepare and issue bid requests to subcontractors and vendors.
• Develop project schedules considering company resources and project requirements.
• Organize project documentation for seamless handoff to field operations and administrative teams.
• Maintain accurate job costing data within Bid2Win and other estimating tools.
• Attend meetings and collaborate with internal teams to align bid strategies with company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in estimating wet utilities, site work, and concrete construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and utility purveyor standards.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software such as AutoCAD, Bid2Win, and AgTek.
• Extensive experience performing quantity take-offs for large-scale projects.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in bid analysis and cost estimation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
